Short drive from Toronto
Niagara Falls is just 1.5 hours away from home. Growing up, I’ve been there so many times that I can’t even remember how many. It never gets old though. I have never been to the American side of Niagara but what I do know is that there is not much going on there. The Canadian side is most definitely the better side with lots of things to do. Starting with haunted houses to laser tags and arcades to clubs, and of course, the casinos. You will never get bored in Niagara. The falls is obviously the most gorgeous thing to see.
This year was my first time on the Niagara Skywheel. I’m not sure how long the ride is on a normal day. I have heard some people say that it lasts a few minutes. Perhaps I was lucky that day (my birthday), but it lasted for 15 minutes or so. It probably went up 4 times at least. The view from the top is pretty awesome. You have the entire view of the falls – American and Canadian side. Ferris wheels are so awesome! It kind of reminded me of cable car rides.
Niagara on the lake
Niagara on the lake is just beside Niagara Falls and it is a beautiful place filled with lots of vineyards.
Wine tasting is the main attraction there. There are so many wineries. It is definitely worth going! I recommend staying overnight and exploring the area including Niagara Falls. It isn’t possible to do both in a day. The wine tours are very convenient as they pick you up and drop you off. Tours take up to 3 hours so it doesn’t feel too long, neither too short.
